Types of editing I can provide
Copy Editing
Copy editing is perfect for a standard professional edit of your writing. I will edit your text/manuscript, leave comments based on your style, voice and tone and fix any spelling/grammar inconsistencies.

You will receive a clean document back with side bar comments related to questions/suggestions and track changes for all grammar/spelling insertions, deletions and changes.

Copy editing is focused on polishing the text rather than looking at larger elements such as plot, character building, structure etc.

Proofreading
Proofreading is designed to give your writing the final polish before publication/submission. I will read through your writing with a focus on detail, checking for any faults to ensure your writing is typo-free.

Proofreading is not a substitute for copy editing. I will only proofread writing that has already gone through copy editing, either by myself or another professional. If during the initial assessment, it becomes clear that the text requires more than proofreading, I will recommend a copy editing service instead.

Line Editing
Line editing is very similar to copy editing but is designed for writing that requires more detailed editing. Based on an initial assessment, line editing may be recommended instead of copy editing if more in-depth editing is required. For example, tense inconsistencies, sentence and paragraph structure, shifts in voice etc. Due to the extra time and attention required for line editing, the fee is higher than copy editing.
